Making Use of Existing Facilities
Our aeromedical aircraft are based at three airfields in Southeast Alaska, making us much more responsive to the community's needs.
Although 8 Star Aviation isn't big enough to require permanent, on-field facilities, we've made agreements with local Fixed Base Operators that give us the facilities and parking we need to do business on a daily basis.
The table below lists the home bases for each of our aircraft, and the facilities available to 8 Star Aviation flight crews.
| Base | Aircraft | Parking | Fuel | Deicing |
| Juneau | N200MW | Spots 62, 63 | Yes | Yes |
| Ketchikan | N202MW | Spot 2 | Yes | Yes |
| Yakutat | N201MW | Spot 8 | Yes | Yes |
Operations at each of the three bases is divided into three categories: Emergency transport, patient transfer, and flying doctor service. Depending on the type of mission, flights may be governed by Federal Aviation Regulations Part 91 or Part 135.
